About Us
New Name...Same Great Patient Care
Founded in 1980 as Preferred Pediatrics, our practice has proudly cared for generations of families in our community. In 2026, we became Sunshine Pediatrics as part of our affiliation with Children’s Mercy—a transition that reflects our continued commitment to combining personalized local care with access to leading pediatric resources.
Sunshine Pediatrics is a patient-centered group of pediatricians devoted to providing high-quality care for children from birth through age 21. We offer timely care for acutely ill patients, ongoing support for those with chronic conditions, and same-day urgent appointments—so your child can get prompt attention when it matters most.
We’ve designed our office for convenience, with easy front-door parking and a dedicated team of four physicians. At every visit, we focus on promoting healthy habits and overall wellness. All of our doctors are on hospital staff at Olathe Medical Center, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, and Children’s Mercy.
At Sunshine Pediatrics, we firmly believe in the safety and effectiveness of vaccines and follow the recommended schedules from American Academy of Pediatrics. If you choose not to vaccinate your child, we kindly ask that you seek alternative healthcare providers. Of course, we’re always happy to discuss any questions or concerns with you- your trust means everything to us.
